Wirelessly-Powered Relay Transceivers for mm-Wave 5G Communication

This talk will introduce wirelessly-powered relay transceivers for mm-wave 5G communication. The prototype transceivers can realize the 28GHz 5G communication and 24GHz Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) simultaneously. To operate with the limited power from the WPT, the transceivers achieve the fully passive operation including the function of mixing and beam steering. The prototype transceivers are fabricated using Si CMOS process, or discrete semiconductor devices made by GaAs on printed circuits board, which has array-antenna. This talk will present several types of the relay transceivers including circuit design and the measurement results of the wireless communication and WPT.
