Practical Challenges in Integrated CMOS Power Amplifier Design

As the digital CMOS process has evolved over the past several decades, there has been an increasing trend towards integrating more RF and analog functionalities with digital circuits in a system-on-chip (SoC) architecture, aimed at reducing the cost of wireless communication solutions. However, integrating Power Amplifiers (PAs) in SoCs still remains challenging due to process limitations and interactions with other system components. In this presentation, some of the practical challenges in integrating power amplifiers and their potential solutions will be discussed.
