Data-Rate Enhancement Techniques for Digital Transmitters
With the increasing demand for high data rate in wireless communication, high efficiency digital transmitters with high linearity and wide modulation bandwidth are desired to support high-order complex modulation signals from RF to mm-wave. In this talk, several data-rate enhancement techniques for digital transmitters including self-calibration, LO leakage suppression, double-edge-triggering will be discussed. First, an on-chip self-calibration technique to compensate AM-PM distortion automatically without DPD is introduced. Meanwhile, design techniques of mm-wave mixed-signal transmitters with LO leakage suppression to support high-order modulations are discussed. Finally, to break the data-rate limitation from on-chip digital interface, a double-edge-triggered power-DAC at E-band is proposed.
