Opportunities and Challenges on the Next Generation Concurrent Reconfigurable Multi-Radio IoT Devices
With an increasingly advanced IoT device wireless landscape, demands increase not only for seamless and secure connectivity for smart home and industrial use cases, but also for the development of future groundbreaking applications and connectivity protocols. Future IoT devices must support high data-rates, be highly reconfigurable and energy efficient, conform to small form factors, and support multi-radio coexistence. Furthermore, the current trends in form factor reduction directly resulted in an increasing number of reconfigurable multi-radio systems, such as BT, Wi-Fi, IEEE 15.4, UWB and 60GHz mm-wave, coexisting in the same wireless environment with much lower isolation among antennas within the same platform. In this talk, we are going to go over the opportunities and challenges on concurrent reconfigurable multi-radio IoT devices with multi-band/multi-standard concurrent TX/TX and TX/RX operations.
