Antenna Interfaces with Built-In Self-Interference Cancellation for Future Communication and Sensing Systems
Spectrum-efficient approaches such as Simultaneous Transmit And Receive (STAR) are desirable to meet the demands of future multi-function wireless communication and sensing systems. Successful STAR implementation relies on self-interference cancellation (SIC) mechanisms implemented at many points along the receiver chain including as early as possible within the antenna interface. This talk will cover the requirements and an overview of the various types of antenna interfaces that can be used in such systems, from dual-antenna schemes to reciprocal and non-reciprocal single-antenna interfaces. Furthermore, antenna interfaces for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) STAR systems will be discussed.
