Self-Interference Cancellation Circuits for Advanced Duplex Systems
An advanced duplex (AD) scheme designed for flexible downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) allocation within a time division duplex (TDD) carrier. The AD scheme allows simultaneous UL and DL operation on the same carrier by utilizing different frequency resources. This approach necessitates a full duplex (FD) radio system capable of receiving signals even while transmitting, which in turn requires self-interference cancellation mechanisms both in the digital and antenna/RF domains. The talk will cover the AD and FD systems, with a focus on self-interference cancellation techniques and circuits, particularly within MIMO communication systems. A self-interference signal will be analyzed to find the optimal cancellation circuit in terms of the hardware complexity.
