Navigating Frequencies — A Comprehensive Exploration of Radar Applications and Beyond

This talk dissects the radar bands from 24GHz to 240GHz, elucidating the strategic rationale behind each frequency’s selection, and gaining a nuanced understanding of radar’s transformative role in the diverse domains such as industrial processes, mobility solutions, biosensing, and control and imaging. Each of these domains presents different challenges to the radar eg optimizing manufacturing and ensuring safety in industrial operations, detecting vital-signs and imaging tissue for medical applications, and performing personnel and environmental observation functions for surveillance needs. During this talk we will see how these disparate requirements drive radar design and spectral choice in unique ways.
