Recent Developments in Active Load Modulation Architectures

In this workshop, we will delve into the latest advances in Doherty Power Amplifiers (PA) that focus on enhanced bandwidth and extended backoff efficiency. We will also introduce a novel active load-modulated PA architecture, which utilizes a non-reciprocal combiner, named as the circulator load modulated amplifier (CLMA). We will provide a comprehensive overview of the theory, design methodology, and practical implementation. Additionally, we will showcase the concepts through prototype Doherty and CLMA circuits demonstrating state-of-the-art performance under realistic modulated signal operation.
